I'm trying to work out my schedule. I'm going to graduate school working on an MA in history. I'm taking 9 hours, this will be hard enough as it is. I got offered a job overnight for 2 days a week = 16 hrs. This is being a computer lab monitor, so it's job I would be able to study at. I already have 2 other jobs, as a tutor I get 8 hours a week,, and I do substitute teaching which brings me about 24 hours a week.

Should I take the night job for 16 hours? I would be able to study at it, but I'm worried that this will be too much for me to handle at once, and maybe I should take it easier. Can you do graduate school and work 48 hours a week?

With information readily available to all on the Internet, will the old-fashioned university system survive where information is trickled through the limited views of a few professors to those who have the financial means to pay large sums while not holding down a full time job? Microsoft uses a “certificate” program where you can study towards a specific skill and take tests at test centers. This method provides much better flexibility than a traditional degree program by cutting out all the “general studies” that aren’t used anyway. Instead of trying to get all the training for a lifetime before you even start your career, you learn as you go as needed by your employer. It seems like this approach would be better for business while not excluding those who are capable but not able to give up full time work while attending a university and could tap into the work force of 18-22 year olds who are living in the dorms.

I'm looking into colleges, leaning towards NYU. Can someone give me an idea of what the vacation time is like? What time Christmas vacation starts and ends, what time Spring break starts and ends, you do get summer vacation, right?! When does it start, how long is it? Please help me! I'm so confused! I can go home during Christmas/spring/summer Vacation, can't I? I'm home-schooled and I really have no idea about this stuff!

Thanks so much.

the reason why is because I'm in community college, I only gained 7 units my first year, I barely graduated high school last year & I need 60 units to transfer, which is gonna take me a while, I wanna go to San Diego State or UC Santa Barbara, but I don't see the point of transferring because that means I would have missed out on 2 years or more of real college life, such as living in a dorm, partying, well I don't party because I never get invited to parties, but in 4-year universities nobody is really invited because you are either in a fraternity or sorority, or just walk or crash the party. My GPA in high school was 2.6, so thats pretty much horrible, plus I don't think I'm capable of succeeding in college, I'm think that I should just quit & start working, but I have a feeling I'm gonna regret it if I do that, so I feel I should stay in college & transfer, but i'm not so sure.

I will be out of the country for an extended period of time and figured that this would be the perfect time to get my BS degree in Business Admin/ Marketing... online. I have been having some trouble, however, researching a school that will accept me (I have less than 30 college credits completed, and am unable to take a final if it is required that I be in the US) and that is affordable. I did some extensive research on University of Phoenix but I'm not sure if I can shake the $59K pricetag. Do you know of any regionally accredited, affordable universities that have programs that are completely online? And, If a school is accredited by the DETC - Distance Education & Training Council, is that an acceptable form of accredidation? (will it transfer if, for instance, I wanted to get my Masters). I am a resident of California.

I really want to be a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ultrasound tech.)!!

I am currently enrolled in an online school, and am close to getting my associates.

Anyway...I was checking out a health care school, and I need a few more credits in order to get in. The program takes about a year and a half, but when you graduate you have to wait a year to get certified. However, their statistics show that they have a 90% employment rate because there is such a high demand for this profession right now!
So, is this an okay program to get into, and if its not.....what should I do?

College is gonna come soon. I am in 10th grade. The pressure of college on me is bad. I am always wondering how i am gonna pay for it... and what college to go to. Is this normal?

Whats my likelihood of getting into a good college?
My grades are high.
i have a 3.8 gpa
i was in 9 grade math in 8th grade. and 10th grade math in 9th and going into calculus for 10th
I took earth science early because of advanced placement.
I do track and cross country
Instead of choosing four elective classes, i chose to take japanese and spanish, (including a french as an accademic) and Business and a law course.

good?

I am currently a senior with 2.6 overall GPA in a business school with one more semester to go before graduation. I have no job experience nor any internship experience. I was wondering if it'll be wise for me to stay an extra semester in my school to pull my GPA up to 3.0 and then graduate, or should I just graduate after this semester with below 3.0 overall GPA? The reason that i want to get a 3.0GPA is because most employers seek potential employees with at least 3.0. And also, most graduate schools require 3.0 overall GPA as well. So can you guys give me any suggestions or ideas? Thanks!

What state(s) allow teachers to teach at the college level WITHOUT having earned a Ph.D?

Is a Master's Degree sufficient to teach in college?

I know in NYC, every college professor needs a Ph.D. or must be on the road to earning one.

Last year, I dropped out because I was going through depression and it interfered with my classes. I'm on medication now, and my doctor agrees that I am a much better and happier person. I really did like the college that I started out at (University of Central Ok.) and want to go back. I owe some money to them for dropping so soon, because my grants were taken away from me. If I am able to pay that money back with a loan, is it possible that they'll take me back?

I have a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, Business Admin. from a pretty decent university, however, I have just decided to become a Nurse (obtaining an associate's degree from a technical college). So what I'll probably end up with is two bachelor degrees. Can anyody give me some advice on whether the route I'm taking is counterproductive?
