Like "Mr. Thornbone" or "Ms. Vaxsimilee"? Instead of "Kelly, here's your essay" or "Kevin (actual classmate)?"

I have a passion for writing and drawing, considering majoring in creative writing, illustration or animation. However, job market, payment, and security, I've heard, isn't really good for an illustrator or writer. It's usually all free lance.

Pharmacy school is another suggestion from my parents. It's about 6 years of science specific schooling, but it's a great job to pursue according to salary and the high demand for pharmacists.

Should I go with what I love? Or should I go with the major that pays more? The story "Death of a Salesman" keeps coming to mind.

I'm an adult student, and I'm seeking a bachelors of science degree in Holistic Health/ Natural Health. As an adult student, flexibility is a key component in my schooling. Hence the reason I'm looking to attend a distance-learning institution. ACCREDITED is important (ie "a real school, real degree"); I'd like to be able to transfer my degree to any other university in the United States. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Help!!!

Right, I did half a degree 3 years ago and dropped out as I didn't like the course or the university, I started a different course and a different uni, and I was asked to take an "intermission" (time out) this year (final/3rd year) by my tutor as I had a lot going on in personal life.
Having been away from uni, and being able to think about it, I'm begining to think I want to just start a career and get on the employment ladder (being at uni 5 years, now to be 6 drains the finances!) also I don't think I want to do this degree either. I'm doing a biology degree even though my strengths are languages, and I would rather work with languages.

So would it be better for me to drop out again, start working and do a part time degree in languages, or should I finish my final year (starting Sept) and just get a degree for the sake of having one and keeping my parents happy? Or shall I finish this one, start working and then look at doing another degree?

I'm so confused!! Please help :o(

i'm going to be a senior this upcoming school year. As of right now i have a gpa of a 4.13 (on a 5.0 scale) and an ACT score of 24. I want have a pre-med major at the University of Illinois in Chicago or Loyola University. Now i've heard of people taking the easy way out by applying as an undecided. As far as i am concerned, what should my gpa/act score be to consider applying for a pre med major?

Also, if i apply as an undecided...how difficult is the process to change it to pre med? And how do so many people get away with it?

I don't know what to major in. I'm an artsy fartsy type of person. I dislike sciences to an extent and i CANT STAND math at all. I love love love love reading/learning/writing about religions, beliefs, cultures and morals. I was thinking about becoming a professor one day and maybe a theologist. Philosophy is also very intriguing to me and i wouldn't mind studying that area for awhile.

I have a passion for learning about things like that, but i also have a creative mind and I'm good with creating all sort of visually aesthetic things. I don't know whether to pursue a knowledgeable career(teaching) or something more creative and less time consuming (stage design for films of w/e else is out there)

I'm 17 right now in my sophomore year at a junior college. I got a jump start and by the time i graduate highschool i'll be ready to transfer and a Junior to a 4 year university. I'm running out of time to decide! I also wouldn't spending time to get a PhD. since i'm already ahead. Help Me!

I'm talking about college.. I have an opportunity to pay a few bucks to go to a private college and graduate with a license in 11 and a half months....Or could spend the next 3 and half years going to a university. I would rather have the private college and be working sooner. What do you think?

I graduated with a BA in history near the top of my class. But some people have told me it doesn't matter how well I did, becuase I didn't go to an elite college. I'll have trouble getting a job. I went to Texas State University, which probably ranks 5th when compared to the other public universities in Texas. Certainly better than many other colleges in the state.

I think I'm more qualified than a C student at a "better" school. If I'd have worked as hard in high school as I did in college, I could've gone to an ivy. I changed my ways my freshman year of college, and worked as hard as I possibly could at it. So just because I was a slacker as a teenager, does that mean I don't have a bright future?

For over 10 yrs, I have tried to take college classes at two colleges and have failed almost everyone. Most of the classes I took were repeats of failed classes. All-in-all, I have only 12 credits (6 from 12 yrs ago) out of a possible 50+ credits. I really want to get a degree, but i can't seem to pass a class. People say I am intelligent enough to do whatever I want (I have taken a real IQ test and have scored extremely high, above average) but I just can passes test, quizzes, papers, reports, etc. I try my best, study long hrs, and still get bad grades. I want a degree to change jobs (I make good money for what I do, way more than I should without a degree, but I am maxed (and stress) out). Should I try at a 3rd college or try again at one of the other two. Should I just cut my losses and give up? Will I even get accepted into a different college with my transcripts? I know what I want to do in life, but I can't even get into the door without a degree.

I got a BA in history this year, and graduated at the top of my class. I searched for jobs for a few months, but not many played out. So I applied to the graduate program at my school and got in, so I'm going to get an MA in history.

I chose my major because its what I love to study. But I'm beginning to think I should've chosen marketing or business or some other practical major, even though I don't like that stuff.
