If you are good at science and have plenty of time to devote to studying.. go for it.
If you dont feel like you can do it then don't put yourself through the stress!! But always remember, you can ALWAYS drop classes if its too much to handle. Just make sure you sign up for enough hours to be able to drop something without losing your full-time status.

It depends on your major. If Biology and Chem. are prerequisites for classes you'll need to take in the spring or the following fall, yes, definitely take them.
Also, find a good adviser. You are usually not forced to get advised by your assigned adviser. If you have a professor in your major that you really like (and that knows a thing or two about getting students into grad/medical school) ask him or her to advise you. A good advisor is essential to your college success (and graduating on time without summer school).

If you can handle two science courses together, right away, then give it a go, but if you're really concerned about this, only take one science course now and take the other in the following semester. Focus on completing all of your generals in the first 2 years of college!

Well, he must have thought you could do it! Why not? They are not dependent on each other, you know--they are not prerequisites for each other. I did that, by the way. I had organic chem and a couple of biology classes at the same time. And you know, my kid took biology 2 and chemistry 1 last year in high school (10th grade).

Take what academic advisors recommend with much skepticism. Take this, take that is just hot air, easy to say. It's another matter to do. DECIDE FOR YOURSELF WHAT YOU WANT AND CAN DO.

from my college experience, you have to double at some point if you would like to graduate in a timely fashion. However, you can take a summer course or something just to ease your course load a bit. But it is not impossible and can be done if you are dedicated.
