I'm talking about college.. I have an opportunity to pay a few bucks to go to a private college and graduate with a license in 11 and a half months....Or could spend the next 3 and half years going to a university. I would rather have the private college and be working sooner. What do you think?

I would graduate with a LPN and be able to work right away.. I have always wanted to be a nurse, but I fear if i go the college way that I won't finish. I want this done yesterday and don't want to waste time.

Well, let's examine this....

Will you have to take out student loans for the cheaper? If so, than you'll have to account for the interest in the loans, books and living expenses for the three year program. Also account for the cost to commute to school, the daily cup of coffee you'll buy and the such... Not to mention, you'll lose out on two years of work in your chosen profession. The long way around you'll be working for two years in a lower paying job (I assume) while you attend school.

Now, is the long way really cheaper?

I think it really depends on the individual and what they want in life. If they want to experience campus life then by all means go to university. Otherwise, the professional route is valid as well and in some cases more rewarding. However, you could take a college degree and qualify professionally and do not need to spend 3 and a half year! Try Calamus International University! They have professionally recognized degrees in hypnotheraphy and psychology that can be done within one or two years. Best of all, you don't need to attend class or pay through your nose to get the degree. Check out the courses available at the link below.

I think what you are calling a college is really a trade school. No real college offers a degree in less than a year. I'm not worried about what you have to pay, since you obviously can, but what do you want to do with your life in the long run?

I think you are making a mistake. It sounds to me like you are being lured by an unrespectable institution. If you take that route, you will not be likely to get the jobs you could by going to the university.
