I am thinking about taking online/mail study courses to get a degree or atleast begin my study to become a nutritionist and fitness expert.

My question is have any of you have experience or know anything about these online couses? Are they logit? Do you recieve the credibility as you would if you had recieved your degree through any other school? And my main question is, are the degrees or any of the credits you may recieve from doing these online classes transferable? Like, if I chose to begin my study with online and then decided later to finish at a college, will any of that transfer to college, or would it be like starting from scratch?

I am in my first year of university in northern Canada, going for my ba in English with my minor in fine (visual) arts. My dream job is to a novelist. However, I need a job to pay off my student loans and before I actually get something published. Everyone suggests teaching and then journalism. I really need help, even my academic advisor could advise me!! I was thinking about going into marketing with the writing/art side. Can anyone tell me what actually is involved in this job? Or suggest other jobs? I really need some direction because I fear I’ll end up dropping out with a ten thousand dollar dept T_T

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi, I have a really tricky situation. I am working in an IT firm. Basically i dont like this job basically because of my team members. During my course of working in the firm, i meet with an accident and had my leg operated. After 5 months of recovery, i rejoined in another team in the same company. But now it seems my leg has not fully recovered. My family members are saying quit the job and cure your leg first. Then you pursue higher education and get another good job also. I am loving this team even though i still dont like the job.

Can anybody trully help me with this. Shall i quit and pursue higher education or shall i continue in the job not caring much abt my leg.

I would like to get more info on the following two accreditation angencies:
Association Of Distance Learning Programs ADLP (US)
and
National Academy Of Higher Education NAHE (US)
and
Commission for Continuous Learning(UK)

If I attend a university whose degrees (especially MBA) are accredited by all of the above agencies but not by the US Department of Education, what would be the advantages and inconveniences of this especially if someone plans to find a good job in US or Canada?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've got to give in a dissertation early May and I haven't started it yet and I really don't want to leave it any longer. I just can get into the frame of mind or come up with an interesting question. It's for Digital Media BA and it needs to be along the Philosophical/Technological/Sociological/Political lines (e.g: How has modern media detached us from reality? or How has digiatal media contributed to ethnic cleansing?)

Any help on any aspect would be appreciated.
