How keen are you to train as a technician? Are you keen enough to move? If so try all the local NHS. They have a jobs website (sorry - I dont know it off hand) that lists all the NHS jobs going.
You might not be able to go straight in as a trainee technian, maybe you have to be a lower level and train and get promoted - worth looking to see if thats the case.
Try private ambulance companies.
And if all that doesnt work, keep looking and trying and see what you can find

Try St Johns Ambulance or the Red Cross - they are looking for volunteers, you can get some of the training from them.
