Are there any pharmacists or pharmacy students out there who got into a school of pharmacy having completed their prerequisites at a community college? If so, how much harder was it for you? Are there any pharmacy schools that have easier admissions than most, if so which ones?

im a sophomore in highschool, and i have so many questions about college, applying, what looks good on an application, courses, and etc.

1) Do you need to take AP classes in your junior year? (do ppl take AP in junior yr for higher gpa, to save money, or is there another reason?)
2) My gpa wasn't that great last yr. however, its much better and its definately gonna improve next yr by a lot (b/c im taking more honors classes, and im studying harder). do colleges like improvement?

i learned from my mistakes and have grown up a lot since then. i am a full-time student at a community college this year and making straight a's as well as working a full-time job. i have to petition the university to get back in. i am including some letters of recommendation from some of my professors that i have had so far this year. any other ideas would be awesome and i promise that nothing anyone has to say well not go unheard. thanks!

I am currently studying in my second year the second best law school in my country and never get Dean's List. however, when i asked these Dean's List student about how they study they usually memorize lecturers notes and reproduce it in exam. the more you memorize, the more your mark is. As for me, i hate memorizing but pay more attention on understanding. my logic is that, there's no point in memorizing because everything is in the book which u can refer in the future. Recently, i had a group assignment on criminal law and this one Dean's List student had no idea when i said 'Smith & Hogan' that i was referring to a criminal law book. This student relied solely on the lecturers notes and had no idea about criminal law as a whole the moment it is not within the syllabus. I am very dissappointed knowing that the only way i can get a Dean's List is by using most of my time memorizing rather than being able to really read other books thats available in the library.

I cannot decide on whether to major in Chemistry or Biology. I want to go to med school and be prepared for MCATs. I am more interested in Chemistry, but which of the 2 majors do you think would be better to go to med school?

Do you think premed is a better choice? I was thinking the Chemistry or Biology because it is actually something, whereas premed isn't really a major, but a declaration of the intent to go to med school.

Any positive imput will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! ♥

I'm trying my best to get accepted into UCLA medical school, though I'm not sure if I have a good chance of getting into the school with these classes:

Sophomore*:

-English 2 (H)
-French 2
-Biology
-PE2 (Cross country, soccer)
-Geometry
-World History

JunioR:
-Chemistry
-AP English 3
-alg.2/trig
-french 3
-AP US history
-Sociology/Psychology (optional, should I take it?)

senior:
Ap eng. 4
Ap. french 4 (lit)
pre-cal (H)
Ap gov./eco.
Ap psychology
Ap physics

*Also for my sophomore year, will it be better to skip French 2 and do Art history (ap)? or just skip ap art history and do ap french 4? I want to get into ap psychology in Junior, but my high school req. is to take an AP class before Junior. AP art history is the only AP class I can take right now. But that means i can't take french 4 AP (unless I take summer school for french 2?). *sigh* With my Math and Science classes, it will be tough.

I have a friend that was wondering with the grades that he has if he will be able to get into certain UC schools that is not with Riverside or Mercede. Here are his GPAs throughout the year

Freshman: 3.8
Sophmore: 3.4
Junoir: 4.3

THose are weighted (all honors and AP except for two classes each year are regular) and SATs are about 1710 but he is retaking them again in hopes for a higher score. And do the college admission focused more on junoir year or the high school years all together.

I recently became a Student Senator at my local community college. As part of the senator requirement, I must take part in a "Senator Project," in which the board member organizes or plays a role in an activity that improves the school. For example, one of the groups has tried to enforce a "25 feet from the building rule" for smokers, or tried to setup other alternatives for our smoking classmates. Other students used funding to buy sports equipment such as wiffleballs and flag football in the yard that students could rent out with their school ID.

Does anyone have a general idea that I can try to work on for my school? I'm not asking it specifically for my college because I feel that all schools share some of the same essential problems.

Thanks in advance.
