the cat is a difficult exam. if you start preparing in the starting of your third year then u will surely get 95 percentile above. But that doesnt mean in any case you will have aguarantee of getting admitted ti iim's. this is because most good business schools require atleast 2-3 years of work experience.
aliter consider taking the gre and doing ms from the states straightaway after your engineering. once u make up your mind money, time,etc. will never be the problem. and after all you might even get a better package than most students who will do mba from their own home country.

it is a good combination but tooo early to think for MBA as engg is also quiet tough u hv to pass al ur semester in first attempt n with mini mam 60 % mark after passing al than pl go to kota in rajasthan for good coaching thy hav been giving good result since last few yr al the best
