There is at least 1 every year that I have that is just SO intimidating that whenever anyone asks them a question in class, they stare at them and give them like this disgusted/confused look.....it's no wonder nobody likes to participate in those classes!

Is it a good idea to talk about volunteer work that you did in this 500-word statement? So far, in the part that I'm talking about my future goals, I wrote that I am interested in becoming a professor and teach university-level students.
I have done some volunteer work in adult literacy (teaching adults how to read & write), so do you think this would be considered "teaching" experience, and do you think it will improve my chances of getting in? Or is it irrelevant?

My counselor found out, and I'm seeing her Monday about it. I had told my P.E. teacher that the one note I showed her was good for the rest of the week. In truth, I was at my counselor's office all the days I missed P.E., but she never met with me, because she's busy 24/7. I didn't have a note for the days she didn't see me, but I had tell my P.E. coach I did, or else risk getting a B. The way things are now, I could possibly fail P.E. Should I explain that I was in the counseling office to my P.E. teacher and counselor, or just apologize and forget it?

I think that they might possibly have to lower their requirements, because i see people less and less kids at my school actually might the requirments, but i am counting like gpa.I thinking more about the advanced(cp)and honor classes(ap) and with all the math credits.
Maybe i am wrong, though i live in Alabama, just seems to me,that colleges will have to lower their requirements.Or kids are just being lazy, because most of the kids at my school want to go to community college then transfer out.
Do is that a common thing?\
And why are more people going to community colleges?

I am going in as an adult student. I want a job like counsellor, life coach, social worker, beahvior therapist.. something like that. So I enrolled in a BA with a major in psycology... So after I take that, do I then continue on to a masters in a specific area?

Please help me understand. That is alot of school. The BA is 4 years.. but the social worker program is 4 years with no BA. To be a counsellor, you can just take 2 years of courses, no BA...

So why take the BA? I don't understand how the system works....

I have a couple questions about college work load, life, time spent studying, etc. I have had several people tell me something about college that I don't know if its true or false. I have heard that there isn't much homework but a good portion of studying. Attendance isn't kept. A regular school day is only 3 hours long. You have three 1hour long classes one day and then two 1.5 hour long classes on the next. Average classes a semester is 5. These are things I have a wondered about and have wondered about their truthiness ( thanks Stephen Colbert for the word, I don't know if i used it correctly)
