How does it differ from a BA?

It is a degree from a 4-year undergraduate school where the student primarily studies the sciences. For example, if you major in biology, chemistry, or something similar, you will likely graduate with a BS in that subject area.

A BA emphasizes the arts, such as English, foreign languages, philosophy, political science, history, etc.

It's a 4 year degree in sciences there is bachelor's degree which is 4 year then you can get a master's in science as well. Usually a master will take more then 4 years to complete...it looks better for a job.

as far as I know a BS degree you take science classes instead of foreign language and art classes. other than that I'm not sure. it depends on what you want to do with your degree if you get a BS or BA.
