I am a young, energetic 51 year old looking to change careers. I have worked in design and constuction estimating my whole life. I went to college for three years and I am bored and need a change of pace. I have an interest in the medical field, yet I need to go to attain a degree to pursue my interest. Unfortunately, I also have to pay for living expenses on top of my tuition. Are there any grants or scholarships that I qualify for? Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

I'm 17 and I really want to go to college but I have no idea how I can afford it. My grades are good, I have a 3.4 GPA, and I go to a pretty competitive high school, however I don't have a tough schedule or take tough classes, nothing extra just what I need to take, I understand that I should have challenged myself more but it's too late.

I dont do sports but I work about 22 hours a week, my mom doesnt have any assets or own anything. My father doesnt support me financially. Is their and organization or website that will pay for me to go to school, I am black if that matters at all. Thanks.

I'm looking to go back to college, I graduated back in 2003. I'm a single mom and I work one full time job. I've been searching for grants that can help me further my education and I've applied for the pell grant and another one. But that leaves me about 5,000 short for school. I don't want to have to apply for a loan because I know they check credit and that takes off points on my credit score. Does anyone know of any charities, business, government grants or scholarships that award or give money for college? I don't know if it helps but my major is digital movie production.

Non-resident tuition is around $5,800 per semester at the university I wish to attend. As a transfer student, I only have 2 years left to my degree which will be around $23,000 total.

Will I be able to afford this if I'm paying for school myself? I don't receive any help from my family. I'll also need to add in the cost of housing, and personal bills. Is it possible?

I'm a college student now. Unfortunately, i can no longer afford it. I am not eligible for financial aid, pell grants, etc. I've taken out all the loans I qualify for (without a cosigner - don't have one). I look for scholarships online all the time, seems like they take me in circles. I really don't wanna join the army and dropping out is not one of my favorable options. I have a part time job, but its hard to live, eat, pay rent, and pay for tuition and books. I just want some advice. Maybe the best advice is just to drop out. Can anyone help me?

I'm going to college in the fall of 2008 for Architecture, and its required that I need a laptop. That not a problem. I know that college loans pay for laptops if you need one. But the thing I was wondering is. I have a computer now, and when I get my student loans I'm going to go by a mac book pro. The thing is I go on vacation to the Caribbean in January of 2008, and I want to take a laptop with me. Can I get a apple visa card and then when I get my student loans, pay it off? Can it work like that?

states are required to pay for public schools..economically it just makes sense you make more money with an education, also the state benefits from this, along with your community.

statistics show that with a highschool education you make about 4 times more money than without, and with a college education you make 3 times more money than a highschool education, so like 12 times more than no edcation.
If states pay for school up to highschool, why not pay for college? The only thing i can think of is that a state educated person might leave to another state but from a national perspective barely anyone educated in the united states leaves.
Why waste money on sports stadiums and other investments when you can diretly help a states citizens... also what business investment can pay back for itself 4 times over in about 2 decades almost guranteed?
college costs 20k min 40k max highschool salery 45k college salary 90k through income taxes alone it would pay back for itself in abou 6y?

I am a recent college grad with $25,000 in student loans. I am working abroad and can pay $1,500 a month towards the debt. I was wondering if I should try to pay it all off as quickly as possible (I want to get my masters degree and am a little weary of getting into MORE debt) OR if I should just pay the principal and put the money into a money market. PLEASE HELP!!!
