Have you tried showing the financial aid office a change in circumstances with your situation with written proof (pay stubs, diagnosis, etc.)? Federal financial aid goes by the previous year's income. For example, the fall 2007 semester would go by the 2006 federal income tax form. You might want to also talk to the local workforce office because there could be some help for you to attend college. The area department or office of rehabilitation could provide some assistance, too. Another source would be searching for outside scholarships, but it takes time. I will include some free readings to help you find tuition money for college. However, I would not panic about your financial aid package until you have talked with the financial aid office because there are chances to appeal to get help from them directly. Good luck!
