The best place to turn for free government grants is your local workforce office which can be located in the blue pages of the telephone book. The local housing authority, found in the blue pages of the telephone book, has help with housing if they are accepting applications, but in some areas of the country, the waiting list is closed. In reference to education, the FAFSA form will provide money for college. I will include some free resources below. Good luck!

If you will be going to college next year, apply toward the end of January by filling out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). They will send information to the schools you list that will determine your eligibility for grant and loan aid. You should get information too that lets you know what federal aid you qualify for. The guidance counselor at your high school can help you with this and you can go to finaid.org on the net for loads of good information.
