I am a 21 year old female with a High School diploma. I live in Staten Island, New York. I work a full time job 6 days a week. I can pay for some of the schooling but my living arrangements and work schedule make it very hard to pay for the whole tuition. I know that people from other countries get sponsored all the time because of the massive results i got from google, but I can't find anything about someone sponsoring an American student in America. Thanks!

I am getting ready to enter college and I have a state-funded scholarship that pays for my tuition at a state college (Louisiana's TOPS Program). However, I have many other things to pay such as books, housing (off-campus), and electricity bills, meals, gas, clothes, entertainment, etc. My question is this: If I get additional scholarships, will I be able to use that money to pay for what I chose? Does my college regulate that money, or can I use it to pay rent or bills? Do I receive the money or does my college receive it? What happens to scholarship money once college tuition is paid?

I am currently studying (and resident in CA) but will be transferring next year to FL. Out of state fees are obviously higher, can I still get a grant to help pay them?

Is my understanding correct about private tuition lenders: From what they claim, a student can pay back the loan after graduation; even while taking out two or three loans over the period of 3-4 years in order to fully cover all expenses.

Or must the student take only one loan to cover the 3-4 years and pay back that loan only... after graduation?

I graduated from college in 95 and am still trying to pay back my student loans. I lost my job couple of years ago so I got a forbearance on my loan until I got back on my feet. I need to start paying it back next month and my payments will be $385/month. I only make $1,500/month so I won't be able to pay it. What would happen if I just defaulted on my loans?
