If you need this information to complete the FAFSA you will need exact income figures. If you estimate on the FAFSA because your parents did not file taxes, you will be selected for verification. This means that you will be asked to provide the school with tax returns and/or W-2 statements. You don't want to "guess" income when it comes to the federal government's requirement for financial aid. Good luck!

I'll assume these are weekly

use the gross figure and not the net unless it asks for net.

$340 x 52 = $17,680 per year
($540 x 52)/2 = $14,040 per year (for the part of the year she worked)

total = $31,720

Now, don't you find it unusual that dad makes $1 more per hour than mom but that mom makes more money? Is something wrong with your figures or did mom work more hours?

You could also calculate this using an assumption of 40 hours per week on a 52 week year using the hourly.

($8.50 x 40 x 52) + ($7.50 x 40 x 26) = $25,480

This trend has come about thru the gradual loss of our values. Money & the pursuit of it has become #1. The unions demanded more & more. Driving some companies out of business. As the companies started to use the illegals & the unions lost members they became self serving, much as congress is today. New cars, credit cards & income way beyond the members they served(?). As their members lost ground, they gained. The companies save the cheap labor as a god send (if I can use that term). They bought congressional member with political contributions& outright gifts. The government passed laws reducing the power of the unions. With the congress securely under control they circumvented the laws of the land concerning the illegal immigrant influx into America.( for many years congress did absolutly nothing about the immigration invasion). With the enactment of the many world wide trade agreements, this provided corporate America an avenue for even more cheap labor. Hence, the exodus to other countries of many well paying American manufacturing jobs & the out sourcing of many others. With the loss of good paying jobs, those unemployed had to take jobs paying less. While this is happening, those in the elite class of people in America (professional people, CEO's, COO's CFO's & all the rest of the CO*'s where rewarded huge monetary value for saving the corporations millions by reducing the price of labor). No matter what the cost to the nation as a whole. As they received more & more while the working people earned less & less the gap between the "haves" & "have nots" grew. You see the resulting development of the "coming" America. Not pretty is it? Make no mistake, as this morphing of America takes place, the ranks of the poor will GROW as more & more people lose their jobs being replaced by some one willing to work for less. The ranks of the rich will DECREASE as the wealth is absorbed by the very wealthy. Where are your grandchildren going to be?

Just estimate. my guess would be around $20,000.

As long as they do not make over $40,000 a year then you should qualify. I highly doubt they make this much.
