I am wanting to apply gor a government grant for education purposes. since it is so hard to get a job i might as well go to school. Well i already have some school loans out and i cant do the school loan thing, so i thought go this route for something small in business area that doesnt take long to complete, but i do not remember requirements. My hubby and i didnt actually "get married" does it still count as marriage if we say that in public? We do have a house together. And i am 23!...?

Hello. I am considering going back into education but i am interested to know how much wouldbe paid for by the government.

I am 22 and I do not work at all but i do not claim any benefits either.

If i went into full-time education what percentage would the goverment pay?
How would this differ if i went into part-time education?
Would i need to be claiming benefits to recieve student aid?
Would the money be a grant or a loan?

I am not married, but living with my partner. Would his income affect how much money i would recieve?

I'm looking to get a scholarship for college. I have a 3.5 G.P.A, over 130 hours of community service, and a honors diploma. Where can I get scholarships? I'm interested in several colleges, such as Ohio State, Portland State, Chicago University, University of Oregon, Arizona State, University of Arizona, and Penn State. Is there a way I can get the college application reduced or free?

I have: Stafford loans and private loans. Is there a way to consolidate both together? I need to lower my payments as much as possible. I'm getting that I cannot put the Stafford loans and private loans together. Is that true?

I'm a full-time working mom and wife. I would really like to go back to school to at least get my associate's degree. The problem is, I can't quit my job. My total household income is 60k+, however I make at least half of that and we couldn't afford to live if I quit my job and went back to school. Our credit isn't the best so I don't think I could get a loan to supply my income, and I do have a toddler so that requires most of my time when I'm not at home. Also, my husband works nights and is on a rotating schedule (he works 2 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, etc...). I applied for financial aid last year and they offered $3,000 a semester, obviously, that's not going to pay for schooling and supply my current income. How in the world can I work this into my life? I feel like if I don't do it soon, I may never and that makes me very sad and like I'm giving up on a dream. Any suggestions?

I recently discovered that I am not eligable for financial aid, basically because my parents make "too much" money a year and last year i had a job that paid "too much to require assistance" (even though that job was last year and i only earned enough there to pay for one year of schooling). I do have a job and my parents are willing to help, but i still, I am only earning minimum wage and my parents have 4 other kids to support. I'm not asking for handouts but does anyone know of companies or organizations who offer scholorships or grants to those students who are not eligble to file a FAFSA? I really would like students loans to be a last resort going into grad school.

When I attended college my student loans were put in my fathers name.

Now that I have graduated, I would like to take over the payments.

The loan company (Nelnet) won't let us and say we have to either make payments to my parents or get a personal loan to cover it.
My husband and I are considering the latter.

Any advice??

I am a student in UK and i was looking the last 2 months for some ways to gain some money in order to minimize the expenses of my family, at least the expenses made for my educational purposes (accommodation, fees, living etc). Is there any way which will help me gain/earn some money so i will (if possible) do my living with these money and not needing so much from my family's income? Have in mind that i don't have enough time for part-time job... and please don't advertise websites which don't offer money as they say.

ONLY serious answers please. I really want to help my family.
Thanks in advance!

If the Dream act passes you'll be competing with them next year.

This is something that is being discussed in the immigration section, but I'd like to hear what current college students have to say.

I am a senior, I would graduate from High School on June 2008. I would like to know when should I apply for financial aid? I ask my counselor and he ignores me. I am dubious. Do I apply after I get accepted to a college or before I apply to any college? Thank You. Yes, I attend a public school.

I have been in nursing school since the first of the year. My 3rd quartyer justt started today. I may have to quit and get a crapy full time job. I can't get child-support from my childs lazy father. And I have applied for the things I know I can. But on the 7th of next month my landlord is filling for eviction. I just don't know what to do, I have no family, or good enough friends to help. Please don't tell me I have to stop school, or live in a shelter with my child. Is there not help out there for single parents trying to do better? If this helps any I am in Kentucky. Someone please help

Is there student loan forgiveness programs for clergy? They often work in poor areas and do alot of community service. My friend is a pastor and she really works hard in a poor town and even started a food and clothing bank for the local families. She also is qualified and gives free counseling to those who need it and can't pay for it. Unforthunately most of her paycheck goes to student loans and leaves her with barely anything. Does anyone out there have any advice or ideas. Thanks!
