Financial aid is broken down by the semester and then added up for the entire academic year when you receive your financial aid report from the college. The aid given will include the Pell Grant, need based scholarships from their endowment fund, federal work study program, and student loans. You need to apply in January or early February of each year you attend for the upcoming fall semester or quarter until you graduate from school. I will include some readings or locating additional help for college. Good luck!

If you have a $4000 pell grant, that is not for one semester. If the $4000 is a combined total from grants/scholarships/loans, then my guess is your award letter is for spring only. Most schools do not automatically award summer term aid. If you marked on your FAFSA that you are not attending fall semester, they may have just awarded you for spring semseter. Call your FA counselor to know for sure. We're not mean, I promise! Just a reminder---FA can change based on your enrollment status. You may have an award letter that shows what you qualify for as a full time student. If you decide to attend as a part time student, your aid can change! Good luck and study hard!
