I saw (in my online banking service) that the first disbursement for my loan for this sem was on August 23, but it's already the end of September and they're still not sending me the check. Why is this?

I am currently 19 and have been dating a girl for 5 years. We are both currently enrolled at Drake University and it is costing us each approximately $19,000 a year. Tuition is $30,000 before scholarships. We are both sophomores. The question is not whether or not we should get married, but rather the benefit financially to getting married.

If we were to get married would Fafsa work off of our income? Neither of us currently get any money from the government. Does anyone have a clue as to how much money we would *probably* get? We would only save on our senior year of college each because of the timing of us getting married and sending fafsa in.

I just turned 18 and im a freshman at a community college.. but fafsa isnt giving me ANY financial aid.. so my mom is paying for it. As of now I'm seeking employment but I havent gotten hired because of my lack of experience. So as of now I need money to put on my metro card to get to school. It seems like everytime I ask for money my mom gets soo mad and we get into this huge fight. I understand she has bills to pay but she has to understand that until I get a job someone has to provide me with some sort of funds to get to school throughout the week. I mean I've been trying to get a job and might be working with BJS as of next week but we all know it isnt a 123 process. For the last two weeks I've been paying for my transportation so I figured she wouldnt mind paying for it this week but boy was I wrong can somebody please help me out. I feel like crying!

Is it based on how much the school tution, your age, your income, and the school? I don't live with my parents, I am in my late 20s possibly thinking about attending school. I know what FAFSA is, but I just want to know how do they determine how much they will approve for financial aid. Thanks!!

I am in my first year of college and honestly...I really hate it. My best friend is even down here with me and still...it's not fun. I'm thinking I made a mistake and I should have stayed closer to home and saved money. If I went home (my college is 3 hours away) I could save so much money, get a job, still attend a good 4 year university and I feel like I'd be so much happier. I just don't think I should be paying this much money to be afraid of walking off campus (yeah, crime rate is kind of high, my roommate got mugged) and I don't even have a major. I feel like I'm in over my head and don't get me wrong, I really want to love it here like everyone else. I've heard dorm life isn't for everyone and I hate having drunk girls run down the hall every night. I like to have a good time too, but frat parties aren't my thing. Parties in general aren't either. I am looking into other clubs but I still feel iffy about the city in general. Maybe it's just not the place for me?

we Live in the state of Minnesota. my husband and I both work full time jobs, we work seperate shifts so we dont need daycare. we really need to go to school so we can get better jobs, the problem is this, We have one car, I work overnights and he works days, the only time I get to sleep besides my days off is the few hours after he gets home so we really dont have time. the only possible way that one or both of us could go to school is if there was such a grant that would supliment our income. weve cheched into on line classes but weve heard lots of bad things about them. if were going to do this, we want to do it for real. what kind of grant would be best for us please?

I am currently a senior in college, graduating in May of 2007 with 2 majors and a minor, all of which focus on teaching in secondary schools (English, Spanish, and English Language Learners). I am wondering whether or not the College Cost Reduction Act will actually benefit me at all, or if I am just incredibly unlucky to have gone to school (and racked up around $25,000 in loans) before the Act was passed. Thank you!
