I saw (in my online banking service) that the first disbursement for my loan for this sem was on August 23, but it's already the end of September and they're still not sending me the check. Why is this?

Usually schools do not want to deal with the expense of sending checks so they opt for direct deposit. If, however, you are expecting a check then you need to go talk to your school's financial services.

Isn't the disbursement the money they are giving you for your loan? Why would you need a separate check if they're putting it directly into your account?
