I just turned 18 and im a freshman at a community college.. but fafsa isnt giving me ANY financial aid.. so my mom is paying for it. As of now I'm seeking employment but I havent gotten hired because of my lack of experience. So as of now I need money to put on my metro card to get to school. It seems like everytime I ask for money my mom gets soo mad and we get into this huge fight. I understand she has bills to pay but she has to understand that until I get a job someone has to provide me with some sort of funds to get to school throughout the week. I mean I've been trying to get a job and might be working with BJS as of next week but we all know it isnt a 123 process. For the last two weeks I've been paying for my transportation so I figured she wouldnt mind paying for it this week but boy was I wrong can somebody please help me out. I feel like crying!

How come you're not eligible for financial aid, it doesn't seem right especially since it sounds like you and your mother are tight on money? Are you a fulltime student, I think only f/t students are eligible.

You really should contact your financial aid counselor to see if they have suggestions. Also, apply for scholarships at a web site like www.fastweb.com Also consider government loans, you don't have to repay them until 6 months after graduation.

Are you trying to get a job in the field you want to be in? Because then, the lack of experience would make sense. Can't you get a job just somewhere to bring in some money? There are fast food, retail places, etc. that usually don't require experience. That's good that you're looking for a job, but are you limiting yourself? At the end of the day, it's not your mom's responsibility to provide for you financially once you reach 18.

When you completed the FAFSA form, did you check off the work study option? It can bring you an income while attending the community college. Also, another option is to search for scholarships and apply for them to minimalize the need for her to pay for college. Also tell her you are searching for outside scholarships to help lessen the burden and show her proof when possible. I will include some free resources which should help. Good luck!

i think of which you may the two take seperate counseling through fact it type of sounds like she's taking all her out on u. From each and every thing it is occurring in her existence. And u shouldn't rake it she in all hazard dsnt prefer you to head and blames it on different issues through fact she sounds like she going to finally end up by skill of herself.
