If you want to teach at college level and beyond, then you need a Ph.D. If you are simply going into industry do not bother - it is not worth the effort or the money. If I were you, I would teach at secondary school, complete your Ph.D. part-time, and then move up to college level.

PhDs get paid different amounts of money.

It depends on what area the PhD is for. Also the type of job ta ht the person has. Some PhDs do not go into the area for which they have a PhD. Some are paid poorly and others are paid well.

You just can't say that you want a PhD. It is usually difficult to get this degree and sometimes the monetary rewards are not sufficient.

You would be best off giving us the area of your interest.

You should not get a PhD because you want money. You should try to obtain one because it is a way to learn more

I noticed you mentioned that you want to teach at the college or university level. Unfortunately, it ranges from college to college and state to state on the pay rate. Each college has its own pay scale with the PhD instructors and professors receiving the highest end of the pay scale. I will provide a link below which can give you some rough ideas for both the career and locations you are interested in teaching in.
