Heres my situation, hoping you can give me some input and thoughts.....

I went to community college for 2 years and got max hours I can transfer to a 4 yr university. The drive to my new college will be about 45 minutes. I am thinking about getting an apartment closer to campus. Only problem is I just bought a new car and am paying 300 a month so I would probably have to take out extra money on my student loans to pay for the apartment (about 300 month after splitting cost with buddy).

UMSL has cheap tuition, about 4k a semester and I need about <2 years to finish my degree.

Stay at home and set some money aside or take out extra loans and be free?

I didn't do very well in High School making C's & D's. I wasn't interested in college then and I just did what I had to do to pass and graduate. Now that I am 27 & at a low-paying, dead end job & I would like to go to Dalton State. I never took any test for college while I was in school & of course my grade point average was not good at all. Do you think I would be able to get accepted into Dalton State & would I be eligible for any kind of grants like the hope scholarships or something? I have always lived in Georgia so that wouldn't be a problem. Thanks for your help.

I was informed that by establishing residency in California for a minimum of one year, I can attend UC San Diego for 4 years free of tuition charge. Is this true or are only the first 2 years free?

I filled out a free ap online to see if we qualified for any grants. I filled in that i have an autistic son and was looking for housing grant. The site said the ap would be evaluated and if we qualified for any someone would contact us in 2-4 days. Some guy e=mailed me, which i never got around to responding to it. A week later he called me. He said that we should be able to qualify for at least $5000, maybe more considering our financial sit. The fee of $345 is a one time fee for the legal work and he would have my bank online verifying the info. His name was Joshua and he gave link www.nationlprocesscenter.org. I checked this link out and it said that whoever gave this link may be a scam. How do you know?

daycare bill for my son? I have lost my job and receive no financial help. He attends a catholic daycare that has given me 3 weeks to pay or he can't come back. If I have no solution, I'll be out of school and I am half way done. I have received scholarships and a Pell grant that paid my tuition.

O.K. Say I got a 24 on my ACT, I have a 3.5 GPA, I have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities over the years, and I take Honors and AP classes. What is the greatest amount of scholarship money I could get based on this from a college that cost about 30,000 a year?

I was wondering how many hours a week can i work without having it to affect the amount of money financial aid gives me. My parents dont make that much. They make about 30k together and i have a little brother and a little sister as dependents. So my family size is 5 and parents make about 30k. Is it even possible for me to work part time and not have it effect the amount the government pays me??

I think they should get to keep their scholarship. Not be punished for choosing GED.Those who get their GED are just as smart as those who finish high school. My child lost their full scholarship for choosing to get a GED over a high school (GED scores are high) diploma. Isnt' this discrimination?

I have no credit, mainly because I was on a full scholarship with a stipend through undergraduate school. My car was bought upfront, so no loans there. Plus, I've never had a credit card. I DO have a cable/internet bill in my name, if that counts. I know that no credit is better than BAD credit, but it still concerns me. I want to go to a top law school, where I will probably need $40,000 a year in financial aid to get through. I know I can get Federal Stafford Loans, but will they cover all that? Any suggestions on how to get good credit FAST?

I just graduated from a two year college and i'm returning to school at a four year college but i'm a little unsure if my financial aid will cover everything. The school is $10,500 a semester and me and my husband (combined) made around $41k last year... is that too much? Plus we have one child (if that matters at all)... and also, at four year school do you have to pay for your books out of your pocket or does FA pay for it? Thanks!

Does anyone have any recommendations for resources regarding securing financing for law school? Financial aid, private grants, aid, etc.....

I have looked at reference books and websites, but they are difficult to navigate and hard to narrow down for what would be a good match for me.

Thanks!
