Thats when I plan on starting and I know a lot of scholarships, etc. dont help you during the summer terms. Does Stafford? And Parent Plus Loan?

Make sure that the financial aid office knows that you will be attending in summer as well as fall and spring. They will then divide the money over multiple semesters for you.

What you will have to worry about is whether summer is before fall or after spring. Where I attend now, summer is the first semester of the year; where I did undergrad, summer is the last semester of the year.

In your case, if it's the last semester of the year then your first summer is on last year's financial aid. This could be a challenge if you have no financial aid for that year.

Many people like to get their loans for fall/spring and then just set aside enough for summer session in their own bank - it's a little less complicated.

Bottom line, yes it can be done. Go visit with the financial aid folks and they'll explain how it's handled at your school.

You know this is a good question! I think you can use Stafford loans for summer semester but I have never gotten one specifically for summer. Go ahead and fill out the FAFSA and have it sent to your school. I know that there are some funds available, but I am not sure what the requirements are. I used to take more money out than I needed in loans for Fall and Spring and put it in a savings account. Then I would use the savings account to pay for summer classes. Good luck!

i'm taking summer instructions and removing a Stafford own loan. i'm waiting to request a private loan because of the fact i did not attain my "shrink" for 2011-2012 yet. fortuitously my pell paid the fall and spring semesters. inspite of the shown fact that any funds for 2012-2013 is for THIS 3 hundred and sixty 5 days commencing including your FALL instructions. The semesters are broken down like this. FALL,SPRING then summer. you won't be able to apply THIS years help for "final" years semester.
