I'm doing some research about the estate.

Do you live in the area? Do you frequent a shop that sells something special? Is there an old food stall that does things traditionally? Maybe a building that is slightly out of place? Or a person who has lived there all his life?

i'm talking about fine dining...i actually have to get their soup or salad, wrap up their bread, give them utensils...its actually more of a PITA than actually waiting on a table..yet they leave nothing.

which do you prefer? why?

my lady and i stopped at a tiny owner-operated mexican restaurant in northern illinois this summer. the food was delicious, the owner was friendly and waited on us hand and foot, and the experience was as a whole, excellent. a risk well worth it! one vote for the independent.

in your opinion, what are the pros and cons of each type? do you 'trust' one more than the other? good food (or bad!) stories welcome!
