If you figure on £10-£15 per taxi ride, plus £5 per drink (unless you are drinking really expensive cocktails in a thoroughly pretentious bar) you can probably budget £25 for dinner per person including 1/2 a bottle of wine... (do yourself a favour and sign up to www.toptable.co.uk its free to join and you might well get a deal on a half price meal)

All told I'd budget between £100 and £150 to take with you. Have a great time....I miss living in London.

Depends how many a "few drinks" are. London prices are around £3 - £3.50 each in that area, with a meal being around £20 - £25 per head so you're looking at around £50 per head really. Taxis in London are a right rip off, especially the Black Cabs. Expensive but lovely.

A decent dinner in a nice restaurant with drinks in a few bars after will cost round about £100 per person minimum. Stay away from the tourist traps in the west end, the Covent Garden, Leicester Square area are particularly expensive and particularly crap. In my opinion the best night out in London now is in the Hoxton, Shoreditch, Brick Lane area. You'll find loads of great bars and clubs round there, while they are expensive compared to the rest of the country they are not as expensive as the crap you will find in the west end.

very variable, Meal cost can vary hugely depending on where you plan to eat... look at spending :
Mcdonalds £5.00
Steakhouse $15.00
restaurant £20.00+ (upper limit is too variable, depending on the quality of the restaurant)

drinks.... could run to £4.00 to £5.00 per Pint of beer or glass of wine...

Taxi depends on station you are using... $10 to £20 maybe

very difficult to answer as it depends on the quality of restaurant and station travelled from.

Realistically London is well expensive- think nothing of spending at least £200

depends on what type of meal and how many drinks, but i would say about 50 pounds per person if you want relatively good stuff

If you don't go crazy:

Meal - £25 per person
Drinks - base it on £3 per drink
Taxis - depends where to/from. Only use the black cabs as they are licensed and know he roads.
