My husband's favorite cut of steak is a rib eye. We have tried Outback, Five Crowns, Wood Ranch, Trabuco Oaks Steak House and Steer Inn; but I would like to take him somewhere new for his birthday. Any suggestions? We live in Orange County but can travel anywhere in Southern California.

I am not trying to be rude. I truely would like someone to answer me honestly. Is it a cultural thing. I am white. Do they tip everyone poorly or just me. I am a very experienced server and do my best to give everyone the same service. I have actually made it my goal to go above and beyond for African Americans just to see if I can get a good tip.
Sorry if this offends anyone.

I will tell you why. Because you are supposed to and they work harder than most people.

We are not your servent but you do provide an experience for diners. Next time pay attention to what your server does for you and all the tables around you.

Also if all of you cheap asses want to do away with tipping than you will be paying through the nose for the food you eat. I make 20-30 dollars per hour and would never work for less than that hourly. Noone would. The job is way to demanding.

If you can't afford to pay your bills or tip your server than you shouldn't be going out to eat.

There are people who go out to eat and are complete pigs. Appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks and run their server all over for them. Then make comments like I can't afford to tip. Then why are you spending your money on WAY TOO MUCH food.

I don't want anything pretentious, just great food with friendly service. The price range is unimportant. Thanks.

I need some ideas. I love cooking, but my recipes are running dry and I'd really like to eat out every-now-and-then. I just don't want to ruin my diet by eating at a restaurant. What places and what on the menu would be good?

Why is it that whenever you are eating out the waiter or waitress always waits until you have a mouthfull of food before they come up to the table and ask you if everything is okay?
