I have a couple- Salt, pepper, and butter. A rib eye steak has plenty of flavor so don't need much else. Another marinade is McCormicks Monterrey steak seasoning. Mix it with some olive oil, and either teriyaki or soy sauce with some brown sugar and let it sit for a few hours- umm good.

I am from the inland Empire myself, so I hope I can help. One great place to try is LG Steakhouse in Palm Springs. It's pricey, but well worth it. By far the best steak I have ever eaten. Here's the webpage for more on that one: http://www.lgsprimesteakhouse.com/
Here are a few others:
Sassy Steer - Colton
Duane's Prime Steak & Seafood (Mission Inn) - Riverside
The Oaks Steakhouse - Perris
Black Angus - San Bernardino http://www.blackangus.com/
Pinnacle Peak - Colton, San Dimas, Santee http://www.pinnaclepeaksteakhouse.com/

The #1 place for beef in So. Cal is the famous Harris Ranch
We go there twice a year and now our group has grown to 30 people.
The website will give you everything you need to know about the family, the restaurant, hotel and all other amenities
Its a great place for a birthday celebration !!!
(approx 200 miles from LA)

Ruth's Chris -- like butter. Morton's -- dee-lish. The Palm (Los Angeles) is fantastic as well, as is Mastro's (in Beverly Hills -- great for a special occasion).

I'd recommend Mastro's. I've eaten at the one on Beverly Hills, but they know have one in Costa Mesa.
It isn't cheap, but I think it the best steakhouse around, that I've tried. I think it better than Ruth's Chris or Morton's, though you'll get a good steak at either of those places as well.

Morton's by South Coast Plaza or Ruth's Chris in Irvine are both some of the best in the business! Enjoy!
