I have a Emerson video cassette player (DA-4) and a dvd player (Magnavox 7006) and i was wondering if there is a way to connect the dvd to the video cassette player ( cant connect to the TV (symphonic st131f).. no ports for it).. and i know they have an adapter (heard its was $20) but i wanted to see if i could connected it to one of the million ports that the cassette player has (or if you know a place for cheap adapters then thats fine too).

Thanks!!!

The viewing distance will be 1.9-3 meters my budget at max is £690ish and my min is £500.

There are a few things to take into consideration though:
-Well-Known retailer preferred
-I don't want to risk a Plasma because I watch alot of channels with logos.
-Will a PS3 look better with a (1080p 5000:1 contrast 500cd/m) or a (720p 8000:1 contrast 550cd/m brightness)

Can anybody advise me the difference between Plasma and LCD televisions? Which one is more expensive and better performance? Also please suggest me a good international brand.

Thank you

I am using a Monster HDMI cable and my PS3's native resolution is 1080. I've heard that the problem could be the TV, here are my TV's stats and let me know if any of these indicate why I obtain a grainy picture during blu-ray movies play. It's a Sony 40" Bravia LCD HDTVand is Full HD 1080p. The model number is KDL-40V2500. It has a Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 7000:1 & Native On-Screen Contrast Ratio of 1300:1. Display runs at 60Hz and the response time is 8ms.

Its not a lot but mainly when the screen is darker u notice it more, especially on DVDs. Is there anything I can do to improve it? Is it supposed to be like that?

I am only using regular Direct TV service and it looks like crap. OMG I am seriously regreting buying this TV, I thought Samsung was a good brand. The xbox 360 looks great even though when I play movies it looks grainy for some reason. I was thinking about getting the HD satilite reciever and the HD-DVD player for the XBOX, but will that make a difference, because from the way it looks now, it would have to be a HUGE difference cuz this just looks awful, my 25" Sony Tube TV looked better than this.

I have known about this for three years, but am not worried....

Ooooo we lose our ntsc signal.. I do feel bad for retirees and people who can't afford them, but they are getting a $40 coupon.

Personally I wouldn't buy a box myself.. I looked at the prices and for another 30-40 you can a dvd recorder with atsc built in.

This is a much better deal.

I have just bought a sony kdf-70xbr950 lcd tv from my cousin. I try it out on shows on cbs and abc. The picture was perfect, but when the commercials come the picture is cut on both sides. I don't know whats the matter, but most commercials it does that and some dont. Also I'm planning to get a hd-dvd player for it. You guys have any recommendation on getting a good one for it? It can receive signals 720p and 1080i but will make it to 768p. I also want to sign up with at&t for their sattelite service, but I want to make sure the picture doesn't cut in half like in them commercials. I also heard by 2009 all channels will be hd. Will my tv still be able to pick those channels up? Im perfectly satisfy with the picture quality now, not planning on upgrading to 1080p until I get out of dental school.

I have a really big wide screen HDTV but the downside of it is that when everyone's in bed I'd like to turn the tv all the way down and read the captions. I can't get the captions to work on this HDTV I've tried all different settings(C1, C2, T1, T2) none work.

The other regular tvs, CC works on those but not on HDTV why is that?

What converter do I need to plug in coaxial cable to my TV which doesn't have coax but only Red, White, Yellow. I have a cable box in one room, but only coax in my bedroom. I don't want to get another cable box and pay rent.

Are there any converters available. If so please let me know.

Just got a HD TV and the HD box but since we have hooked it up the sound is not very loud. Some stations are okay, others I have to turn the volume up all the way and I still can not hear. Do I need special cables, or to hook up something different???
