Aside from getting a professional cabibration you should check out either the Avia or Video Essential DVDs. They will help you get the best picture quality from your plasma.

mrhan1 got it right. These disks have tutorials and test patterns and tell you how to adjust the brightness, color, sharpness, etc.

Keep in mind that each source you hook to the TV has different electronics. If you calibrate the inputs you use for your DVD player, it wont help the inputs you use for the CATV box or Game system.

There are people from ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) you can hire to come in and perform a calibration. They will setup all the internal settings, so that "white" is really white and "red" is really 'red'.

Then they will adjust the connection-specific settings to match your CATV box, Antenna tunner, DVD player, etc.

This runs 300-500 dollars. One guy charged $200 for the internal calibration then $150 for each high-def device and $50 to calibrate each standard-def device.

Simply rent from your local Blockbuster Video store any number of Disney movies, i.e., The Incredibles and open up the Set Up Option and in particular the "THX Optimizer" which will correctly set up your TV to movie viewing standards.

Good luck!
