It is a 40" rear projection TV. The picture is fine when watching normal TV channels, but since i have connected a games console to the TV, the DVD picture is tinted green...

I suspect when you hooked up the Game system, you jarred loose one of the wires from the DVD player to the TV.
Let me guess - you use component video? Good choice, but check the plugs.

Check to see if the DVD connectors are all seated properly. I am assuming you have the DVD going through the component inputs. If either of the red/green/blue cables are out of socket, or you have bad cabling, there will be trouble in the picture as you describe. Check the rear of the DVD, as well since the trouble may be there.
