When the internal mute is on and it is hooked up to my surround sound, the crackling goes from speaker to speaker. When the surround sound is off and I use the TV speakers, the crackling comes out of the TV speakers. This only happens when I am watching TV through my HD Cable box. When my xbox 360 is hooked up, the crackling doesn't come out of the TV speakers or the surround sound speakers. Should I just get a new HD cable box...could it really be that simple? I need some help please as I can't find my receipt and samsung won't send a technician(free of charge)without it.

I am on a budget and just got a 32" element flat panel HDTV. I bought it because I got a great deal on it and I wanted something better for my xbox 360. I don't want to spend a lot of money on the tv setup and I only have brighthouse standard cable. Some of the none Hi Def channels are a little fuzzy and I was told you can fix that problem with the right cable. I am just wondering ifthat is true, and if it is what is the best cable for the job. (I'm not looking to make the channels that aren't HD into HD but I was hoping to get a little better picture.) Thanks in advance for all of your help. Another thing that may help isi need to go ten feet from the wallplate to the tv.

It hasn't been dropped and it's only about 3 years old, but it has weird purple and green colors going through it. Does that mean it is time for a new TV? Or can I take it to be repaired. I payed $500 for it new.

I do not want to get cable, or a better TV, or a Converter box! The goverment shouldn't be able to say that all TV stations MUST send out Digital and not their Analog ones like they have!

Is there any one that feels that this is a completely stupid idea?

We have digital cable and a regular, old 27" (or and inch or two larger) TV. Its going out and we need another one. Im confused. Will I need a digital TV set in the future? If so, when? Do I need a LCD or Plasma screen? Are there regular TVs that are digital. What is a decent set? Im not wanting to spend a whole lot of money.

This means that by Feb. 17, 2009 ALL ANALOG TV WILL BE GONE! What ever happened to being offered choices? What about people in low-income communities, or us college students, who make due with basic TV; ABC, CBS, NBC, etc, no sort of cable, whatsoever? I think this is wrong, and that the government shouldn't be forcing us to use digital tv. What's next, the radio? Will it be that we no longer get free radio in our cars, when we drive to school/work, but have to pay to subscribe to radio with "hi def radio." People already complain about +100 channles, and there's nothing good on? I doubt that adding all of these extra digital channels will change that.

Under legislation passed by Congress – the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 –millions of televisions will be deemed useless without an additional cost to the owner of $50 to $70 per set. The change will also deem all VCR's useless, except for playing old tapes.

This forced obsolescence of millions of dollars worth of equipment for which the owners paid good money is bad enough. But the waste, and the effect on the environment when all of these old TV's hit the land fill is even worse!!!!!

Again, Congress makes another hand-out to big business (read: the appliance, cable and satellite TV businesses), and leaves the owners of over-the-air signals and the general public to foot the bill...for both new equipment, and the resultant environmental impact.

I finally hooked up my splitter but now it shows the same channel on both of the tvs. I have been reading previous postings and many say you can get them to work interdependent. How do I set that up? I have one tv in the living room that has the cable box. The second tv is in the bedroom and does not have a box. It is a pain to go from one room to another to change channels. Since I can not control the tv in the bedroom. I have to do it from the main one in the living room. How do i set it up so both tv's work independently?
