Actually if you are seeing the DVD menu on your TV you are in good shape....
You should have good audio too....if not, make sure the red and white connectors are connected to the red and white sockets on the back of your tv...they are normally just below the YELLOW video connector you have connected.

ON DVD PLAYERS, you normally don't use channel 3 or any other channel....You can only use Video 1 or 2 or 3 etc to get the DVD picture...so pressing the INPUT BUTTON is the right thing to do....

Yellow is video, red and white audio. I have a Mitsubishi, too, and there are a lot of ports on the back of the TV. The DVD player should be hooked up to input 1 and the yellow, red and white cables should go in the yellow, red and white ports. of input 1. The cables to the DVD player should be attached to input out. You also have to ID the brand of the device for the TV. Press TV menu and press set up. Look for the device key on your remote. An icon should appear for the DVD player. Scroll over to the DVD player and touch enter. You really need your TV manual.

1) the red white and yellow cable goes from the back of the DVD player to the input on the Mitsubishi, same colors in matching input spots

2) TV will be either channel 3 or 4, try both

3) hit play, it should start showing

Probably it's okay, if the dvd player works that's enough for me. Try contacting the company if can.
