I will never understand it. It is not like I am an old person, I am just your average seven-teen year old... minus all of the "latest" technologies. I still have a CD player, had it since the 6th grade and it works like a charm. I do not see the need to go and buy an ipod that will break in just one year. Cell phones are OK I suppose, just for talking on the phone. But all of these phones with all of that crap on it is just OVERWHELMING. I mean, do we REALLY need all of that crap on a cell phone? Why are people so quick to throw away things when a new version of so-and-so comes out? Don't even get me started on those razor phones!

At around 11:30PM on January 23rd, 2007 as I was typing on my PC the lights began to flicker and my computer began turning on and off. The lights then became extremely bright followed by a booms outside then the lights dimmed so low it looked as if they were about to burn out. The house phone was on began to cut out and made a loud screeching sound and then...silence.

These strange events lasted for nearly 15 minutes when a knock at the front door got my attention. It was a fireman informing me to shut off my computer if I had one because of electrical problems that were occurring in the area. I immediately did so.

It was not until the morning I discovered that my two TV's, all three cordless phones, a microwave, two alarm clocks, my entire computer, VCR/DVD, DVR/Cable Box had all been destroyed due to the massive power surge they endured. After surveying each and every unit I learned that all appliances in every apartment was damaged or destroyed.

Who is to blame for this?

I work in electronics retail and a lot of companies have loyalty or retail training sites to earn prizes. I know Microsoft has Train and Learn, and Intel has Intel Retail Edge, does sony have a similar train and earn website or retail partnership site? I work for a Large Electronics company, and wanted to take advantage of the site if it exists. Thank you.

P.S. If you know of any other retail exclusive training sites It would be much appreciated.

Know nothing about DVD players, got recordable one for Christmas. Managing fine but have been recording and erasing on the same disc. Is there away of knowing when it has been used too many times. Hope u can help and this posting in the right section.

ok, so i have an old speaker box, but at least 3 of the speakers are blown, and i don't know how big the speakers are that i need to buy, do i need to measure the hole they go in, or the cone itself, or what? also, i don't have ANYWHERE NEAR the power i need to blast these speakers at full power (2 boxes an 800W cone, 2 tweeters, and 2 midrange, plus my 4 100W speakers for teh surround) and i need to know if, even though i don't have that much power, will i still get the great loud sound i want (like it's simply a maximum), or do i need that much power just to get any good sound?

Please don't answer if you have no idea, only answer if you acctually know what you are talking about, or have some sort of instructional site for me to go to or sumtin. thanx alot.

Alright so i got a ZVM mp3 player and we got a protection plan 2 year warrenty on it for 80$. Does this only give you a certin limit of times you can have a mp3 player be replaced.

I havent replaced it yet but i think i have to. Can u only use this warrenty a certin amount of times or any amount of times until your warrent expires.

I have the recipt of the warrenty and the papers. So im just checking,

this has been suggested as a way for me to watch avi files downloaded to my computer, on my t.v.
i don't know how to do that ... do i need dvd discs? i don't have a dvd burner - do i need that too? or can you burn in dvix mode on a cd-rom?

I bought a DVD rewinder from a guy in a Best Buy parking lot, he said he won it as a prize, but since he already had one, he offered to sell it to me for half what its worth, only 50$!!! What a deal!
Its pretty neat, you just put it in and it's supposed to rewind your dvds and cds automatically, and it looks just like a regular cd case.
There is just one problem, it doesn't work, and since I don't have a receipt, I can't return it to the store. Where can I take it to get it serviced, and how much do you think it will cost me? I'm not even sure what brand it is.
Maybe its solar powered, and I need to go outside to make it work.

I am just wondering if there is a way that I can measure how much electricity a device (tv, computer, etc.) is using at any giving moment. I was thinking about maybe something like a surge protector with a digital read out on it telling you how much power it is usinng.

I have an electric stapler on my desk at work. Today, it has started making a purring/growling noise, and suddenly stapling 4 or 5 times in a row. There is nothing in it triggering it! What the heck is going on? My cell phone is next to it and I know sometimes cell phones make computer screens fuzzy temporarily or speakers buzz. Does anyone know if a cell phone could make a stapler staple on its own???

My plasma tv broke down and I have no idea how I have to go about filing a claim. When I call Best buy they tell me I have to give them all the numbers but I don't have them anymore. I know I bought an extended warranty but have no proof for it. Please, did someone run into a similar situation? What could I do?

UK BT phone line. One phone number, 2 sockets, one downstairs and one upstairs. Every night - but not at the same time - the phone makes a noise, beeps and clicks but does not ring, it wakes me up. Anyone else experience this/know what causes it.

I know I can take it out and it will stop, just wondering what might be causing it.
