The short answer is that you can't. The long answer is that it's such an involved process (you'd need to seal up every crack and hole, including adding a waterproof barrier in front of the speaker cones themselves) that it'd just be cheaper to let someone else do it for you. I've seen one instance of waterproof headphones that are designed to work with a waterproof iPod case (H2O Audio H1-9A1 Waterproof Headphones, usable in up to 10' of water, so sufficint for snorkelling, but not for scuba diving), and I've seen a pair of outdoor speakers that are designed to look vaguely rock-like (KLH GRN600 Simulated Rock Outdoor Speakers, probably not waterproof to the point where you'd be able to operate them underwater, but enough to handle rain).

you have to buy waterproof speakers.... Mostly because the encloseure is most likely not designed for water...... And the woffer itself, may be made of a cardbord type material....

Vote the best
You can make them Water resistant.
Best if you go to your boating store.
I wire running through my back yard, and speakers set up in the trees, and in the form of rocks.
