Basically, since Katrina, I've been thinking of sinking $50 into an Eton radio (FR300), that broadcasts the emergency weather frequencies, plus AM/FM/VHF and TV. Plus it has a light, siren and cellphone charger. Wise? Or, am I just being paranoid?

...a significantly discounted price, however you had to buy in bulk and spend a certain amount of money. At the time, I was interested in buying one specific item and it wouldn't work for me. But now, I may be interested, but I have been unable to find the website again. Does anyone know of any such websites? It would be a great help. Thanks.

I have a trc430 ham radio, and i want to hook it up to power. It has a red wire, a white wire, and a black wire. I looked up this site:http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/realistic/trc_430/430spec.htm and it says that this radio can take 12v power. I have a 12v power supply. How do i hook this up? It "negative ground" so if that is so, what do you hook up the white wire to?

My family and I are thinking about getting a karaoke machine, and I was wondering if there are any that you can use with CD's. We also don't want to spend more than $300 or $400. Answers are appreciated!

I have about 8k records that I have been collecting since I was a small child. I love the sound that can only be made by a record player. I am concerned because it damages the lp's to use them traditionally. I would like to know if technology is available to copy these rare lps onto disc while maintaining the cracks and pops that add so much (especially to classic rock lp's).

It's a Toshiba SD-3980SC2. It is plugged in correctly and worked in another room with the same tv but does not work in mine. Everything has batteries etc. You can insert a DVD and it seems like it might be playing but there is no audio or video. Do I have to switch something to a different mode? and if so, how?

This portable typewriter is plastic junk, but amazingly, it still works fine after about 19 years of ownership. Was purchased at a Highland Appliance store in Michigan in 1988. If nobody makes the ribbon, I'll have to scrap the machine. Do you know who has obscure ribbons?

I would like a DVD player with a reasonably sized (but not enormous) screen, which does not need to be played through a TV set - as I don't have one of those. Surely such a thing must exist, but I can't seem to find anything other than tiny portables. I can play DVD's on my PC, but I would like to watch in the comfort of the sitting room as opposed to in the office.
