I want to record video from my TV to my computer really bad. I would prefer a way to do it for free. I don't want to watch TV on my computer...I want to record it. Please help...

Free isn't going to happen if your computer didn't come with a video capture system; a tuner like this is the cheapest way to go. They often go on sale for about half price. You can record off the air (or cable) or you can record composite- or S-video directly if you want to record a tape or DVD to your computer.

There are similar items that interface using USB if you have a laptop. They cost a little more, but it may be your only choice.

Well, there is only 1 way I know to do it, and it's not free. That's to go somewhere like Best Buy and buy a program that'll hook your PC up to the TV and record shows you pick to record. Sorry but I forgot the name of the program/hardware I was going to buy. I was going to get one a few years ago and they ran for like 70-120 dollars then, maybe research it more and you could get one cheap on ebay (but it might not work so well...)
