I would like a DVD player with a reasonably sized (but not enormous) screen, which does not need to be played through a TV set - as I don't have one of those. Surely such a thing must exist, but I can't seem to find anything other than tiny portables. I can play DVD's on my PC, but I would like to watch in the comfort of the sitting room as opposed to in the office.

Thanks for the answers, but maybe I wasn't clear. I don't want a TV set (no licence - no ariel - I've never owned a TV and have no intention of getting one), nor do I want a laptop, I just want a DVD player on it's own

If you want it the size of a laptop screen it will probably be cheaper to buy a cheap laptop computer.

Sure, a laptop.

If you need a large screen, get a laptop. They start around 399 now with dvd players.
