I just had a one week old player shoot craps and this is the only thing I could possibly think could have caused it. What other things can mess them up?

Nothing that screws around with the order of your music (ie: iPod Shuffle), those aren't "decent", they're bloody annoying.

Hello, I have a new microtrack recording device that has an RCA "S/PDIF" input.. I purchased 2 different RCA "S/PDIF" cables, and neither fit.. the input on the device is flush with the unit itself, the RCA cables go into the hole fine, but are prevented from going in far enough for a good connection by the ring around the cable.. any ideas ?

I'm asking this for a friend, not myself. (I did have the same problem but simply solved it by buying a new hard drive!!). Unfortunately my friend is a bit short of money at the moment and has been bought an iPod (for Christmas, this is how long it's been going on!) but doesn't have much hard drive space free on his PC.

Basically, he wants to be able to copy tracks from a CD and onto the iPod but then delete the tracks from the PC, freeing up space to rip another CD and transfer to the iPod again.

Using iTunes, each time you delete the tracks from the PC, they are then removed from the iPod on the next sync.

Does anyone know a way round this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

this has happened with both my ipod nano and video, but there are these songs that wont play on my ipod, but are fine in itunes. the songs have a black circle w/ white ! in them when i go to ipod, music (like just showing the stuff on your ipod) can i fix this, because sometimes its as much as 30-40 songs. basically songs that play in itunes don't play on my ipod. when i select them the next songs gets played, but a play count is added. sorry i know its kinda confusing.

when i insert it into a usb port on my pc, it says device not recognised. it always happens. with my other one, this doesn't happen. and when i put music onto it, it doesn't turn on. but when i put voice files onto it, it turns on and only can play voice recordings. on pc, it works for 3 seconds, and then the computer says 'device not recognised by windows' ...acting all weird, what to do?

Or a program which can be configured to change audio streams at a particular time would work too.

My mom wants to update her old Sony Walkman that she listens to while at work to block surrounding noise. I have been looking at the Sony Walkman's because that is what she has now. Although you pay high dollar for the sony devices because they have room for MP3's. She isn't into MP3's and would only listen to FM radio while at work. I've been wanting Satellite Radio for some time now. I'm just not sure I want to pay the price for the radio + subscription right now. I will eventually get either XM or Sirius satellite radio though. Should I tell her to get the Sony Walkman and pay for something she won't use (MP3 room) or should we go ahead and get Satellite Radio that we would both use? We both like the idea of having the devices portable. Help?!?

I've been trying to figure out how to add pics to my contacts on my ipod. I've got Windows Address Book and not surprising it's not too iPod friendly. Is there a PC contacts program that is more compatible?

Also, I've been wondering if it's possible to delete the default contacts on the iPod?

I know how to but I have never actually done it myself a friend of mine added music on to my iPod. I wanted to know if there is any setting I could change because every time I try to put new music by going to sync music a message comes up. The message says that by putting the new music all other media on the iPod will be deleted. I wanted to know if there was a way of adding music without it deleting what is already on it.
