Go to the website of the company who made it and search for the drivers for your mp3 player. Download and install, it should work now.

The plauer should be recognized by any windows xp / 2000 PC as a Mass storage removable device when connected to a USB port. At least the PC should display message "New Hardware found" "mass storage device" and prompt for the driver disk ( in most cases this is not required).

Since it is not doing so, the problem is with the USB port- this could be a cable problem or the connector on MP3 player is damaged.
Try with a new USB cable ; If it does not work, you hav eto take it for repairs . This can be an expensive & unreliable option.
I am wondering how are you able to put music files when the device is not recognized.

It may be a good idea to buy another player and dump the old one. You could donate it to some young Electronics hobbyst.

First I prefer some fairly uncomplicated music gamers like ipod, and it style of sounds like regrettably for some hit or falldown your media participant's administration button has been stiffed, I mean that is being pressed it self each each now and then (or all the time) so it immediately shifting with it, merely touch the technician and attach it out.
