It's not just one phone so I assume it's in the line. If we switch from one phone to another the static is still there. My girlfriend's uncle says it's the batteries. I disagree.

It's star-something, and SBC would take forever to answer this, so I'll ask it here.

That way my last name will start with five A's. Do you think that's enough to be the first one in the phone books?

A pen pal i have that lives in Russia wants to call me and I am not sure if there is a specific country code she needs to dial. I am pretty sure it's going to be more than my standard of dialing 1-817-### - ####ya know? I just want to make sure she gets through to me when she calls. I live in the state of Texas in the USA.

Basically what I'm looking for is a cordless phone for my grandparents. They have only one Phone line to work with, but would like multiple handsets to avoid having to run across the house. However they'd also like handsets that are a bit larger and have bigger buttons on them. These new landphones are made slightly larger than a cell phone.

Now I can find nice expandable/multiple handset phones, and nice Big-Button phones, but nothing that includes both of these feature sets. Anyone know? Or have any good ideas? Thanks

How do you block a number on a cell phone?

It's not a phone line problem. When plugging in a corded phone, it's ok. I went thru a couple of cordless phone systems (motorola/2.8 GHZ, vtech/5.8 gHZ) already, they all ended up having this problem before I throw them away. Such a waste because they aren't cheap systems and they function perfectly fine other than static noise . Why is it so difficult to keep static noise under the control?

I have a non-cordless phone because I am hard of hearing and they just work better for some reason, so please don't tell me to get a cordless one. Do you know the phone line I am talking about? It goes from the phone base to the receiver. It gets so tangled and twisted and I take it off the hook and let it spin, but it goes right back to a big messy curl-ball that drives me nuts. Other than that, I love the phone.
