A pen pal i have that lives in Russia wants to call me and I am not sure if there is a specific country code she needs to dial. I am pretty sure it's going to be more than my standard of dialing 1-817-### - ####ya know? I just want to make sure she gets through to me when she calls. I live in the state of Texas in the USA.

001-817 -... is what your friend needs to dial. (No need to dial the 1 at the beginning of your number, if it's dialed it won't go through)
From the US to call abroad: 011
From elsewhere to call the US: 001
00 is the International code and then you add the country code, each country as one.
1 is the US' country code and the US is one of the only, if not the only that does not start with 00 but 01.

The Country Code is the "1". That's all he/she has to do.

You can call the operator to be sure but I'm pretty sure its 01. in the format 1-01-XXX-XXX-XXXX
