If your phone provider allows international calls just dial : 011 44 Phone number. If you have a calling card call the access number enter the pin and call 011 44 Phone number. That is what I do when I call to US. I am not sure how you call from UK to USA.

Pick up the phone and ask the operator.

From USA to UK you would dial 44 and leave out the first 0 on the number you wanted to ring. Not sure about calling USA from UK

From the U.K. you dial 0, which gives you access to the international service, then the country code, which, for the U.S.A. and Canada is 1, then the area code and finally the subscriber's number.

VOIP would be your best bet, and cheapest route to go. Most cable companies or a service like Vonage will be the place to start. Good luck.
