I have a non-cordless phone because I am hard of hearing and they just work better for some reason, so please don't tell me to get a cordless one. Do you know the phone line I am talking about? It goes from the phone base to the receiver. It gets so tangled and twisted and I take it off the hook and let it spin, but it goes right back to a big messy curl-ball that drives me nuts. Other than that, I love the phone.

They have the coolest thing at Wal Mart or Best Buy, any store like that. It is a retractable phone cord that just plugs right into your phone. It looks like a small disk and the cord just comes out of it and when you wall back to the base to hang the phone up it just sucks the cord back up in there. They work great. And they only cost about 10-12 dollars.

Radio Shack : Handset Cord Detangler $6.99

I've seen similar at Big Lots, Family Dollar, other discount low quality stores, for alot less, but they don't look too sturdy.

Spinning the handset, lol, yes I can agree it's a pain. I remember those days well. Years ago, I had one of those shoulder rests, when it got spinning, the weight of the shoulder rest just kept the handset spinning, lol.

I completely understand about needing the phone you are using for amplification. I am still dumbfounded why they don't make a cordless phone for people that need the amplification. There would be an unlimited market for the phone. I used to work at Radio Shack, and used to hate seeing people frustrated from not being able to hear the phone. I think most of the time is was a tone difference, and not the volume. People had hearing aids and from what I've been told they are about worthless as the phones RS sold that they could hear with. Probably the reason why they don't make one yet is because the possible power they would require or the quality of a speaker in the headset to make sure you could hear the phone. Everyone can hear on the 39 cent speaker used in every phone. A speaker of a wider range of frequency range, and better quality could cost quite a bit more than the 39 cent china crap that they force into our finger.

Opps, ok I'll get off my soapbox.

Good luck.

Go to your local radioshack and ask them for a telephone handset cord swivel.

It goes between the cord and thrhandset and allows it to swivel without tangles.

This is a common problem. What I do is I dangle the headset and let it spin back to its origin. I have to do this every couple of weeks.

I don't think so. I just purchased a shorter straight cord and got rid of the curly one.

you can buy little flat wire retractable things. you just take off the old curly cord, and put in the new one. they work pretty nice.

no. You can by a phone line that isn't curly. It won't roll up on you, but you'll have other issues.
