I want a canon camera, because from what I've heard it's the best. Does anyone reccomend the Canon SD40? A lot of places say that it is not very good. What about the Canon S80? Please help!

I am seeking advice on which camera i should buy. Money is not a problem, i just want the best professional or semi-professional camera on the market. I was thinking either the Panasonic Lumix L1 or the Nikon D2Xs, i was trying to compare the sensors. The Lumix has a better sensor (live MOS) but it is a 7.5 Mp and the Nikon one has a not so good sensor (CMOS) but it is a 12.3Mp i think. So, which is more important?? Can one make up for the other? All input is very much apreciated!!! I;ve always been told the Lumix lenses are the best make. What do you think? Thanks a lot xox

I need a digital camera to document my art work/jewelry/sculpture so it is essential that I be able to get detailed close ups. Are most digital cameras capable of this or is there a specific feature I need to look for? Any camera recommendations? I would like to get one for under $200.

i need to take some photos for passports and as i have 2 kids under 5 i thought it would be easier to take them at home and develop them at asda like i normally do. On the touch screen thing where you put your picture card in and pick the photos out you want to develop, i was wondering on the touch screens is there an option to select passport photos.

My old one used the sx-70 film which is discontinued. I want to buy a new model that someone can recommend strongly that will use a more accessible film type (600 i suppose).

Thanks for the tips, 10 points to the most helpful!

Hello Everyone:

Please don't laugh, but I have never owned a digital camera and I am interested in buying a digital camera FOR UNDER $500.00 that is easy to use,but produces wonderful quality pictures? What brand of camera would you reccommend and why? I would also need to have a scanner that would come with a camera too. I would like a camera that takes excellent family pictures, and one that is quick, easy to learn how to use too. Which brand should I consider for under $500.00? Kodak? Canon? Olympus? I need a camera that will be compact enough that it won't look like it is the size of a 35mm camera like I currently own from the 1980's,*GIGGLES* The digital camera that I am looking for MUST have more than six mega pixels,MUST take excellent pictures, and MUST have a scanner to print out any digital pictures that I really like and want to keep forever! Thank you for any advice that you would be willing to share!! ;-)

I am looking into buying a Canon digital camera. I have been looking for one compatible with my lens. I have a EF 28-200 lens for my EOS 500 model. Are the EF lenses compatible with the Canon digital Rebel's? If not, do they have a camera compatible with EF lenses?

I'm looking to get a dslr and it's proven to be difficult to decide. I've read several reviews of the cameras and they seem to be fairly similar. Good anyone give me some ideas-do you have a preference?

This is going to be my "starting out" camera, I will be upgrading in a few years-after school-and I'll probably want to stick with the same camera company-so is there one above the rest that would make for an easy transition?

I will be shooting some landscape photos but mostly people-a few studio type but most outside. For the starter camera I won't be doing sports-the fastest action will be dancing-but the next camera I get will have to be able to take good pictures of action-track/cross county, etc.

My experience with digital is limited to the canon powershot, but have used a 35 mm slr.

The 3 cameras that I've been trying to decide between are:
Nikon D80, Canon Digital Rebel XTi, and Pentax K10D.

Thanks in advance.

I'd like to try some macro photography with a DSLR that has an APS-C size sensor (such as a Pentax K100D). If I were to buy a prime macro lens, how do I decide between a 50mm and a 100mm macro? Or maybe a 70mm macro? I understand the basics of focal lengths, but how does the focal length affect macro photography? The lenses all seem to do 1:1 magnification, and the minimum focus distances are not too different.
