Megapixels don't seem to do the trick. I have a 5MP Sony that simply produces large images (1280 x 853), but the *quality* of the image is just the same as a 3MP image from an older camera.

I'm considering a CANON EOS DIGITAL REBEL XT (8MP) but only want it if the *quality* of the image improves ... not just the sheer size of the image.

My camera recorded a perfect 24 second little video clip, and it plays perfect on the camera. But when I uploaded it up to my computer, it plays but lags. The voice doesnt match with the movement of the mouth. So if anyone has any idea what I can do to fix this damn problem Id SERIOUSLY appreciate it! Thanks

I own an Olympus Camedia C-3020 digital camera.
My memory card (PNY SmartMedia 128MB) does not have any pictures on it, but when i insert it into my digital camera it says the memory card is full.
I have used the memory card before with no problems.
Anyone know how I could fix this?
Thanks.

My Sony cyber-shot 3.2 megapixel camera has a new memory stick.I put in new batteries (Kodak) yesterday ;and when it did not work today I tried the two spare(pk of 4) and bought another pk of a different brand. The batteries are in correctly.I have tried every possible combination and so has my brother. What do I do next?Any suggestions about what to try before I go out and buy another camera? Camera repair is a very low option because I know it can be costly (like repairing a car). Any suggestions about a troublefree or quality brand? I have had the camera for about 27 months and at least 11 mths have been plagued with trouble.

When the memory on your memory card is full, do you delete the pictures (assuming that you have them saved else where) or do you get a new memory card?

I take lots of pics...store them on computer...and view them on computer. Do some very basic editing. Email pics to friends. I use a Olympus 500 5mg. camera.

I'm looking to upgrade my digital camera. One of the main reasons I'm looking for a new camera is my current one is super slow between shots. What is the technical spec that refers to this? And what is considered fast? I'm not a super photo buff, but we do take quite a lot of photos while travelling. We often blow up our photos to hang on walls (16"x20") so I need to make sure it has good quality. I'm currently looking at a Sony DSC-H1, but I'm not sure if this is a good camera? Or should I bite the bullet and go with a SLR (are they ok for someone who's used to point & shoot)? Specific thoughts on the Sony would be appreciated, if it's crap then other suggestions would be welcomed.

Thanks.

you have nothing like a negative to hang on to. If you lose a picture you are out of luck. so do you save all your pics on a cd to for a backup? What do you do? How do you know how many pics will fit on a cd? Please help Im fairly new to the new digital camera world!! I just want to be able to have some kind of backup of my precious family pics in case any of them get lost.

Why doesn't the video mode on digital cameras have any sound? Is there a digital camera yet with sound along with the video?

like focusing the picture so the focused person will appear sharper/more vivid because of the blurred background
