When the memory on your memory card is full, do you delete the pictures (assuming that you have them saved else where) or do you get a new memory card?

Transfer the pictures onto your computer then delete them from the memory card. If you are working with a $1000+ camera and need lots of pics of high res, it's a good idea to have a spare memory card. There are also a couple of things you should check:

- reduce the resolution so that you can get more pics on your camera.
- check your camera to see if you have built in memory. Some cameras have several megs built in.
- If you don't have a built in card, then empty the current one onto your computer.

Only buy another card IF you need lots of pics for class or business. At this point, they are really cheap so it's worth it. Go to ecost.com, newegg, or buy.com to get a cheap but good memory card.

As long as the ones you like are saved elsewhere (most likely a computer) you can go ahead and delete them off the card. If you fill up your card frequently though, you might want to buy an additional card that has a bit more memory so you're never stuck with no memory when you need it most.

Get a new memory card with a high mb of memory like 256 mb or 1 GB.Then delete the photos( after saving them) from the other card and keep it as a spare or backup.

It can be done in 3 simple steps 1. Transferring All Your Photos Formatting the drive erases everything on it permanently, before you begin the process backed up on a hard drive because once you format the card, it will be gone forever. 2.Choosing to Format in the Camera Put the card in the camera, turn it on and switch it into playback mode. Open the menu and navigate to the option that allows you to format the card. 3.Formatting in Your Computer Open 'My Computer' and you will see the drive. When you're positive it's the right card, right click the icon and choose 'Format'. Leave all the options untouched. Again, make sure that you are really ready to format it because once you do this, you can't reverse it. When you're sure you're ready to format, click 'Start'. Depending on the size of the card, formatting could take a few minutes.

Once I have downloaded the pictures to my computer and then backed them up somewhere else, I clear them off of my memory card. Just remember that flash memory is still fairly new and we don't know if they will experience retention issues over time (like floppy disks).
