Consumer Electronics - 20 August 2007

Whenever I turn on my digital camera, it will not let me take pictures, view saved pictures, or anything. The only thing that happens is on the screen "Card is Not Formatted" appears and it asks me if I want to Format it or No......

....when I put no, it says "You may now turn off your Camera".....

When I remove my memory card, it doesn't do this. How Can i get it to stop without formatting my car, which erases all my pictures?

I am trying to decide which game to buy this September for my PS3. My mind was really set on buying Lair, and I'm really excited about Lair, but then all of a sudden Heavenly Sword attracted me more because it is going to be something like God of War.

In EGM magazine, the review of Lair wasn't all that good, but I don't make my decision to buy a game or not based on reviews, but the reviews are important to me.

Maybe I should just by both because eventually, I know that I'm going to get both games anyway. But if you could choose one game which game would you choose to buy?

i just bought the tv today and i use regular cable no digital cable from my coaux cord.after i did the auto setup thing i was able to watch tv but for some reason i dont get channels 2,3,4,6,16.all of them i got before.and the station that supossed to be on channel 5 appears on channel 3.i have no idea wut is causing this and i did the auto scan 4 times and still the same.i also checled to make sure the channels werent being blocked but it still wont work.the channels do work on my dads regular tv.wut is wrong ?

thanks for the help everyone! im still having trouble! i have a vga going out to my pc and a dvi going out into a hdmi. i used a monstor dvi to hdmi converter to use the monster dvi cable. i can switch between vga and dvi with a button on the lcd monitor. the vga comes up fine. when i turn on the dvd player and switch to dvi mode it comes up fine as well with he samsung "on" screen. BUT when i put a dvd in the samsung hd850 the scepter 19 inch x9w the screen goes lite blue then black then lite blue then black. when i take the dvd out te samsung menu comes up perfect. i tried changing the dvd players specs fom 480 to 720 to 768. the lcds to res is only 1400x900. i changed from the dvd players rgb-normal to rgb-expand and from dvi A to dvi B. this is all in samsungs menu. I am pulling my hair out. the sceptre lcd displays the dvd player when it turns on but not the movie when i load it in the player!!!! What am i doing wrong? i feel like i ate a bowl of clown this morning guys! thanks!

I know Wild Hogs was just released on dvd. Where can I buy a video tape that will play on my VCR? Do they still make them? I am a senior citizen and cannot work a dvd, but just love my VCR. Thank you..

I have been shopping around for dlp front end projectors to use in my apartment. There are some models that come with an 80" free screen and mount which is all I would really need for now as I live in an apartment.


But, I am thinking that I should by the projector first and try it our on my wall. then either buy a screen or build one.

The throw distances seem to vary alot by model and I think that will play a part in which screen size to get.

I would hate to buy a projector because I get a free screen and mount via mail in rebate (plus shipping of $50) only to find out I really don't need one or want a bigger one instead.

(I have an off-white wall that is very smooth and may do just fine as a screen, but I won't know til I test it)

ok,,,this is my question,,,,did they ever combine 8 tracks with a radio,,,am/fm,,,or am alone?or were 8 tracks always a separate deal,,,cassettes were am/fm cassettes,,but were 8 tracks their own entity always?,,and tell me how you know!!

I am wanting to set up a television in my room I have about a $50 budget (although I have the money to go over), but I might be able to get the TV for free. I was wondering mostly about what to do about an antenna.
I have heard of HD antennas that get HD and digital stations, I think. Do they work well? Do they work at all with a old, cheap TV or do you need an HDTV?
I want to get the basic channels, like NBC, ABC, CBS, etc. and I would really like to get other channels like what you get with satellite or cable. (I know I won't get that many with an antenna but those kind of channels). What kind of channels can you get with an HD antenna? Would I be better off with rabbbit ears?
I live in a suburb about 30 minutes away from a really big city. In a two floor house. What is my best option for around $50? I don't really care about if the picture is good. Just as long as it isn't too bad.
Sorry, this is a long and probably hard to understand question...
