I thought there might be something I can set to turn it off at a certain time ??

Well there is software to limit his use and then you can set the pc to sleep or whatever after a certain time but here is a link to some helpsul cheap software. http://www.kidswatch.com/man.html

There are timers available that can be plugged directly into the power outlet. Set it for whatever time you want to allow him and it will then switch off at the preset time.
If your son is a bit clever, he might reset it, so keep an eye on him to ensure it stays off. Otherwise, just remove the power cable, then he won't be able to turn it back on.

Isolate the circuit and throw the breaker. That's the cheap way. There are locks you can put on the plug so that it cannot be plugged into an outlet. You can also enforce the rules and make your son get of your computer. He may be using it, but it is your computer. Enforce that and make sure he knows that you are in control of your property. By law, you are in control of his property as well until he reaches the age of majority or is emancipated.

Go to a hardware store or computer store.
