Software - October 2007

Is there something I can download on a different computer and transfer it in? Please advise because I can't return the thing and really want to play it. Thanks!!!

I installed a licensed version of XP Pro on my computer and registered it online to microsoft.... My question is....... If my computer crashed and theres no way to restore it, can i transfer that OS to another computer??? Thanks for the help.........

I have 3 worksheets and one "Total" sheet. I need to take the data from the first three for example in cell D4 and add them together and find the average. I know how to do the function on one sheet but cant seem to get it to work when i do more than one sheet. HELP! Work related. My job and life depends on it. I just bought a Gateway laptop with windows Vista and i'm having some trouble. I'm trying to install internet security software but it keeps saying I cant install or remove anything until i close windows mail. I've tried everything trying to close it but the same message keeps popping up every time I go back to installing my software. How do I close windows mail? How can i get my software installed?

OMG if you go to youtube and look at videos of windows vs mac and mac users fighting with Windows users, it's just so funny to read. The Mac users get more defensive then the Windows users and they just fight back and forth even going to name calling.

Well I'm a Windows user, always have been and always will be because I don't like mac for personal preferences.

Anyway heres a video I thought was really hilarious and it shows the mac fans more outraged by this videos outcome.

It says "unable to open your default email folders. Could not open the item.
Would you like to open your default file system folder instead?

I dont wanna go looking around in temporary internet files for the swf files. I need to download swf files from sites like these:

i have powerpoint 2007 & my school has 1995. I had a presentation due today, & it wouldnt work. It said my software was too new. So how do i make it to where it will work at school? ( on the old version )

Also, I have tried to view it and it will only show text in the TITLE line, not any from the body?

it is converted but now i don't know what this means? The file C:\Program Files\Total Video Converter\Converted\VTS_01_0.3gp is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.

I need a Digital Audio Workshop that is good for making Hip Hop/ Rap beats, however it must be compatible for MAC OS 10.5 (which is the newest). Free would be good but if there is one you know of that you have to pay for, but know it's a good program, that's ok too. Thx.

All I want to do is write out a phrase in either Illustrator or Photoshop, and then save it as a jpg file.

I want to create a nice font, then color the "stroke" as black, the font as a different color, and then save the entire thing as a jpg so I can post it on a web page.

However, it seems that Illustrator can't save anything as a jpg file, and Photoshop has a real problem with coloring the stroke and fill of text.

Is there an easy way to do this, or is it being made intentionally difficult? Any suggestions would be very helpful. Even if you suggest using some other program!

slow, constantly getting error boxes, freezing, program not responding, i've called at&t, norton, compaq and no one can help me, actually at&t who said to upgrade the anti-virus told me i'd have to call compaq. when i shut computer off, grey error box & doesn't stay on long enough for me to copy information down, another says do not shut down loading information, just all kinds of stuff i never got before downloading. my concern is everytime I do something that someone suggested it seems like it creates more problems, this has been going on for a month. my computer is a new one and not it's screwed up. i have a small box on the toolbar next to the date, has a AV, yellow circle with a red question mark in it and it' constantly flashing. the computer acts like it's always trying to download something. thank you

Some how, I messed up Internet Explorer so that when I print a page I get all of the underlying print format codes, and lots of them! (I am not talking about the occasional codes for quote signs and ampersands). I am talking about all of the many format codes ie indents, type size, etc. etc. Help please!

Hi there. I have table with the following:

and the following formula:

=IF(E5=$E$1,(NOW()),"")

What I want to do is if the Task Status column (E5) has the word "COMPLETED" in it, then today's date will appear in the cell to the right. If any other word or character is inserted, the cell will remain blank. This part works fine.

The problem is that if I change the system date to another day, then enter a 'Completed' status on E6 for instance, for all other cells that have a 'Completed' entry, these dates now change to today's date.

Not sure if I explained that well. Anyway, is there a way to use the IF function, insert a date, and have it stick?

I recently went down to Microcenter and bought a gig of RAM and a 120 gig HDD for my Core Duo (not core 2 duo) intel Mac mini. I have boot camp installed on my original 60 gig disk, and that's what I use to get into Windows. The problem is, I need a way to transfer everything from my old disk to my new one, both Mac data and stuff from my Windows partition. How can I do this? What program would I use? I would like to do everything for free if possible! Some tools I have at my disposal are the Western Digital Data Lifeguard CD (My new drive is a WD, so it might work), a hard drive enclosure, Acronis Loader versions 9 and 11, and SuperDuper. What do I need, and what do I need to do in order to copy all of my stuff? BTW, I have boot camp assistant installed, but because it's the beta version, it's expired, and Leopard is a tad out of my price range.
