I installed a licensed version of XP Pro on my computer and registered it online to microsoft.... My question is....... If my computer crashed and theres no way to restore it, can i transfer that OS to another computer??? Thanks for the help.........

if its a retail version, yes, otherwise the licence wont allow it ( you can in practice, just the licence says no)

If I.m not mistaken, when microsoft verifies the windows OS install, it takes a "snap shot" of your motherboard serial number and main devices, if you transferred the OS to another computer then tried to update, my belief is that you'd have problems right off the bat due to the non-matching snap shot and the new/diff. computer. I'd take a look around microsoft's web site prior to making the attempt.

i'm hoping you used a ghost by way of fact living house windows Vista has no uninstall or revert to previous OS version decision. in case you had dont a paralel or crean deploy from interior XP i could desire to help you do it yet improve....your could desire to reinstall xp and which ability sparkling hard drive considering vista does not choose to get put in over.

if your HDD crashed then its not possible but if u have same motherboard on other computer then u can use it otherwise u have to install it again. OS non transferable

You can run one copy on only one machine, if that machine crashes you can do the telephone activation on the new machine (after reinstalling the operating system) !

Yes you can. Just install XP on the new 'puter and re-enter you code when it asks you.
